Thank you so much to everyone who came out and waited in the punishing Houston heat in the middle of August for this chance to meet Kevin. We were floored at the response, and at the devotion of so many people who waited a long time in line. We are sorry we had to cap the line, and not everyone got in, but we heard almost nothing but love from all of you afterwards, even from those that weren't able to get in. It means the world to us that our customers are so awesome, and this was a wonderful opportunity to give a little something back to all of you. By our count, Kevin was able to meet around 250 people on Thursday, so we were able to accommodate around 125 people per hour, not a bad day's work!
I also want to give a very special thanks to The Pop Culture Company's own, Mike E, who made all of this happen. Mike has been selling art to Kevin for a number of years now, and when he found out Kevin was going to be in town for two shows at the Improv, he got the ball rolling. It is thanks to Mike's hard work over the years that we were able to arrange this special signing, so please, if you see Mike around the shop, tell him thanks and give him a huge hug. If you haven't seen Mike's amazing art before, make sure to check out his (and his brother's) site, Wonderbros.com, your day is about to get awesome!
Also, a huge thanks to Cory G. (who runs our trade shows) who stepped up with some much-needed help to make this happen on such short-notice.
Thanks to Rober Q. for owning and opening the PCC in the first place, because without him, we would never have had the chance to do this.
Lastly, thanks to Matt E. for turning artwork and promo materials for this show around within hours so that we could get the word out, and to our wonderful PCC staff for helping out with the madness on the day of the event.
None of this would have been possible without so much hard work and dedication from many people, and without support from such wonderful customers. I hope we get a chance to do it again the next time Kevin is in town!
