Today's big news was by far the huge score from the Hasbro booth. Of all the booths at SDCC, Hasbro might very well be the most notoriously difficult to get in line for. Between having to get up before the sun rises to wait in line at the Sails Pavilion in order to get a ticket to actually stand in the line at the Hasbro booth, having to be at Hasbro at a time when they are actually opening the line up and timing it just right so that they aren't sold out of particular exclusives that have been allotted each day, Hasbro is a gigantic mix of dedication, determination and luck. Today was finally the day that the stars aligned, as Darcy and (long-time PCC customer Mike P) were able to breach the Hasbro line at just the right time to acquire a HUGE HUGE HUGE score!
For you original comic book art fans, you'll soon be seeing some impressive new pieces in the store that Rober has managed to acquire, and you're going to love what you see. Also for you original art fans, keep your eyes open for a very special announcement coming your way soon!
I managed to attend quite a number of panels today (sorry to those of you requesting live blogging from Hall H and Ballroom 20, I just can't get into those panels because they require camping out overnight) and live blogged a number of them over on Twitter. You can find the tweet stream here if you'd like to read about them.
Panels covered today on Twitter were
- Batman in the 80's and 90's
- Milestone @ 21
- Batman: The Eternal Dark Knight
I also attended 'The Black Panel', one for some show called 'Resurrection' that I ended up in while waiting for another panel to start and 'Media and Marketing for Superfans'. I didn't live blog those though due to interest or arriving late to the panels.
After the show floor closed we went on the nightly mission for boxes so that we can ship all of these goodies back to Houston, where you'll be able to get your hands on them shortly. Hopefully we got enough, I'll know if we did by tomorrow, as Rober and Darcy are up late tonight packing everything up to send out tomorrow.
We had dinner at Rober's favorite restaurant, Panda Inn, again, and we also saw the PCC's Rachel R. today for a few hours.
We saw thousands more cosplayers today than in the days previous (OMG, that Nightwing), and since tomorrow is Saturday, they will be out in full force. If one of the things you like about our SDCC coverage is all of the cosplayer pics, then tomorrow is definitely going to be your day!
Before the convention starts tomorrow Rober and I will be attending the Skybound retailer breakfast, and I hope to live blog some news from that over on Twitter, so if you're interested in The Walking Dead, Outcast or other Skybound titles, check us out over there. I'll put that info on the Facebook as well, though not as quickly as it will be up on Twitter.
That's it for me, another long day, time to get some sleep!
