Here in issue #11 Manchurian's plan is finally revealed, and the complexity of his gargantuan undertaking is at last understood. In engineering the final battle between Benny Boatwright and the Anti-Meridian, Manchurian has effectively doomed all of the combatants left in the arena to death, and at this point, it's only Benny and Sable left alive to contend with that fate.
Throughout the issue the final conflict between Benny and the Anti-Meridian is revealed via narration from Meridian to Sable, explaining the complex past and future that brought the story to this point. Paul Jenkins does a great job of explaining a complex situation in an easy-to-understand narrative, and also manages to set up some great sequences for Carlos Magno to showcase his art, which has grown on me tremendously throughout this series.
If you haven't checked Deathmatch out yet, I suggest picking up the trades, or finding back issues if you can, it is well worth your time and effort.
I'm sad to see this wonderful BOOM! series end next month, but at least I have one more issue of Hit and the ongoing Suicide Risk to keep me happy until the next great BOOM! series is released!
