Thor has unexpectedly been one of my favorite Marvel Now! titles since the initiative began almost a year ago, and the conclusion did not disappoint.
I had wondered for months how Aaron was going to explain the time travel (always a difficult thing to do), and furthermore, how the Thors would manage to defeat Gorr, the 'God Killer'. As it turns out, it wasn't the Thors, plural, but only the Avenger currently known as Thor that would be Gorrs undoing.
The beautifully painted art by Esad Ribic has never let up during this fantastic run, and his visualizations of the story's conclusion are some of the most breathtaking I've seen this year in comic books.
Jason Aaron has been slipping over in Wolverine and the X-Men, but I can forgive it, because the story he has crafted here with Godbomb in Thor:GoT will go down as one of the greatest Thor stories ever told in my opinion.
This story was so good that I'm almost worried for this title going forward, because I can't possibly see how Aaron can top this tale of wonder, defeat and eventually, triumph.
If you haven't been reading Thor:GoT, you owe it to yourself to pick this up in TPB form, as it is instantly one of the all-time great Thor tales.
